Lunar new year is one of the biggest holidays in Chinese culture, and is celebrated according to the lunar calendar from the first day of the first month to the 15th day of the first month. Dragon “龍” as the most important symbol in lots of Asian cultures, representing the ruler of the universe and nature, and uniquely possessing the attributes of the other 11 creatures of the zodiac, it marks the biggest celebration of the 12 zodiac year cycle. Chinese Fine Arts Society celebrate the lunar new year season with Dragon theme and attract over 7,000 attendees at 6 events spanning 5 iconic Chicago locations, and including performances by over 15 performing arts groups with over 75 performers from across Chicagoland!
