Jackie Chan’s Long Yun Kung Fu Troupe

Heart stopping and moving, the Long Yun Kung Fu Troupe was the signature artist in the City of Chicago’s 2016 and 2017 Chinese New Year celebrations, presented by the CFAS in partnership with the David and Reva Logan Center and Auditorium Theatre respectively. Comprised of some of the best martial artists from across China, each performer was handpicked by Hollywood sensation, Jackie Chan, to create a new art form that melds martial arts with elegant traditional Chinese dance. Rarely seen outside of China, this troupe’s artistry and athleticism received tremendous reviews from critics and audience alike.

“It’s a magnificent visual effect, a logistical feat of wonder, as the dancers gather and toss the fabrics without a misstep, even as they bound up and over each others’ backs in remarkable tumbling passes.” – The Chicago Tribune, February 2017

“The Long Yun Kung Fu Troupegot a standing ovation from the awed crowdThe overall effect of  ’11 Warriors’ was one of power, balance and calm, with the lush backdrop of Chinese culture augmenting the impressive display of skill and art. – Third Coast Review, February, 2016
