The Chinese Fine Arts Society (CFAS) was founded in 1984 as a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the education and promotion of the Chinese cultural arts.
Please register for the competition at no cost on or before July 31, 2010 by clicking here. You will then receive an email with your official Migratory Journeys Application Form and your pre-assigned identification number for anonymity in judging. Please keep this information in a safe place.
A $25 late registration fee goes into effect after July 31, 2010.
Step 2. Application Submission
Deadline: October 29, 2010 5:00 PM CST
All compositions must be entered into a composition software program (such as Finale or Sibelius) and then printed and submitted unbound to ensure that the compositions are legible. Please include your pre-assigned identification number on the top right corner of each page of your score. Your name should NOT appear anywhere on the score.
All completed entries must include:
The completed and signed Migratory Journeys Application Form.
Three unbound single-sided copies of the original composition with the pre-assigned identification number on the top right corner of each page of the score.
A recording of the composition is helpful, but not required (midi will be accepted).
Submitted materials will not be returned.
Completed registration materials must be mailed to the Chinese Fine Arts Society (see below for address) and postmarked (not meter-stamped) by October 29, 2010. If submission is hand-delivered to the Chinese Fine Arts Society, it must be received by 5:00 PM on the deadline day.
Notification
Prizewinners will be notified by email and will be announced in January, 2011 on our website.
Award Winner Requirements
Award winners must include the phrase “Chinese Fine Arts Society’s Migratory Journeys Competition” on the score and are encouraged to recognize the award and CFAS in their biographical information.
Award Recipients are responsible for providing performance-ready parts.
