Chinese New Year

Each year, CFAS partners with various Chicago area cultural institutions to present Chinese New Year celebrations. 2012 Year of the Dragon celebrations include:

Thursday, Jan. 19, 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
1300 South Lake Shore Dr.
$12 advanced purchase, $9 students and Adler members, $17 at the door

Tickets can be purchased at the Adler Planetarium Website.

Ring in the new year in style at this 21+, after hours event. Sip on a Red Dragon cocktail and enjoy performances from some of CFAS’s finest young artists. Be sure to check out the Chinese Star Chart and the fantastic view of the city skyline while you’re there. All exhibits including sky shows in the Grainger and Definiti theaters will remain open for the event.

Performances will include martial arts, Chinese classical music, and Chinese dance.

Stop by the New Year Marketplace to pick up trinkets to commemorate your experience from the CFAS giftshop. Artists will be on hand to write your name in classic Chinese calligraphy or provide you with a glitter dragon tattoo.
