From spectacular lion dance and martial arts displays to dramatic Chinese percussion performances, CFAS produces events that showcase Chinese traditional and folk arts in an accessible and fun way. CFAS collaborates with over 15 different Chinese arts organizations and many other individual artists to produce exciting, memorable events.
Notable productions include QiXi, a colorful dance drama involving over 200 dancers, martial artists, Beijing opera singers, and musicians presented in Millennium Park in 2009 and 2010 and Chinese New Year celebrations at Adler Planetarium’s Adler After Dark Series and Navy Pier.
CFAS also participates in many festivals throughout the year including performances at the Richard J. Daley Center’s Under the Picasso program, Evanston Ethnic Arts Festival, APA Heritage month celebrations, and many more.
