July 27 Patrons’ Reception

You are cordially invited to join us at a reception at the Harris Theater Donor Room following In Tribute: A Chinese Voyage on July 27, 2009. To RSVP, download this PDF. In Tribute is open to the public, bringing this wonderful concert experience to a broad audience in Chicago. However, we have a block of seating reserved for our special patrons, whose generous ongoing support enables us to deliver programs that carry forward Barbara Tiao’s vision of cross-cultural exchange through music and the arts.

The concert takes place at 6:30-7:30 pm at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, Millennium Park, Chicago. Immediately following the concert, all patrons are invited to join us at a joyful light dinner reception at the Harris Theater Donor Room celebrating our 25th Anniversary and Barbara’s exemplary life. We are pleased to announce that the Honorary Chairman of this event is violinist Rachel Barton Pine.

Yes, I would like to support this event! To RSVP or make a donation, download this PDF.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

In Chinese mythology, dragons are considered auspicious creatures believed to control rain, hurricanes, and bodies of water. Used throughout history as a symbol for the Emperor, dragons are held in the highest regard. Among modern Chinese, babies born in the year of the dragon are especially sought after.

The Year of the Dragon began on January 23, 2012. New Year celebrations last for 15 days, ending with the Lantern Festival on February 6.
